About Conrade
Of Mauritian/Australian heritage, Conrade Rivalland has also lived in New Zealand for some time. A born front man he began performing while still at primary school. Enthusiastic immersion in High School drama preceeded Conrade's entry into University life.
Achievements
With his Associate Diploma in Cartography from the University of the Northern Territory in Australia completed, Conrade found that the call of the theatre soon pulled him away from map making.
He went on to complete two years full time drama study at KAFF Theatre Training in Western Australia, followed by tuition in mime at the HUSH School of Mime. Study in film and screen acting at the Freemantle Film and Theatre Institute completed his formal training.
This led to the formation of physical theatre group WELL and it was here that Conrade realised his love and aptitude for this style of performance. He went on to perform at many international festivals and events including the Edinburgh Festival, Glastonbury, the Edmonton Fringe and the 2000 Sydney Olympics. He has performed in many countries including Singapore, Belgium,France,England,Ireland, Scotland,Holland Canada, New Zealand and Australia.
All this and UniSmart too.
In 2006 Conrade was invited to join the UniSmart team after impressing the Directors with his street show and repeatedly expressing his keen desire to use his performance skills to motivate and help people. Now a veteran of nine UniSmart tours, he is an expert at communciating to a first year student audience and is considered one of our finest assets.
