It's classic really. As children we are told over and over by our parents not to talk to strangers. It was like a mantra when I was little. I've been thinking about all the new students starting at universities all over the Northern hemisphere. Thousands and thousands of you!... What if none of you spoke to someone unless you already knew them? How would you ever meet anyone? Wait for an introduction? Wait for them to speak to you first? But they would still be someone you didn't know, so wouldn't that create a dilemma? To answer, or not to

Change is one of the few things that can mean both good and bad... I think it depends on how much control we have over the change. If we choose it, there can still be fear but we have only ourselves to blame so it's easier somehow. When change is forced upon you, like somebody leaves or you lose your job or the government takes your house away(my case), it can leave us stunned and searching for reasons why this has happened to us. Haunting isn't as easy at it looks on tv you know.

Do call. Do visit. Send a card! A text. None of this takes long to do. When you randomly think about them, they are with you in another way. You probably pop into

There I was, on facebook, when someone said eeek i have a teenager! It was the kids birthday you see. Comments followed in a negative vein... I wrote (and I quote me) I love teenagers - awesome brave tired hungry sweet.

These words came out unplanned and not subject to any composing.

Why do I think of this age group as marvellous and exciting when others seem to fear or despise them?

Is this why we have such youth unrest and they are such a disaster prone group?

Lacking a real voice, do they choose a prop: car, chemicals, adrenalin, power.
