It's classic really. As children we are told over and over by our parents not to talk to strangers. It was like a mantra when I was little. I've been thinking about all the new students starting at universities all over the Northern hemisphere. Thousands and thousands of you! What if none of you spoke to someone unless you already knew them? How would you ever meet anyone? Wait for an introduction? Wait for them to speak to you first? But they would still be someone you didn't know, so wouldn't that create a dilemma? To answer, or not to answer - that may really be the question.
Talking to strangers is actually an essential part of settling in to a new place, job or home. Try it. You might meet some strange people, but they won't all be strangers if you talk to them.
The forum is a brighter place tahkns to your posts. Thanks!
