James William Ward

James has worked as a performing arts lecturer at a range of colleges and universities.  In his performance role he has toured nationally and internationally with a range of award winning theatre companies as a musician, as an actor and as a puppeteer.

He transformed into an Owl and toured internationally in the show The Owl Who was Afraid of the Dark with Blunderus Theatre Company, and most recently took on the guise of a real life guitar playing Dragon (among other roles) in the UK tour of You’ve Got Dragons with award winning Taking Flight Theatre Company.

James worked as a bassist and guitarist in rock and pop covers bands for many years. In 2016 he performed in a live musical ensemble piece created by Kjartan Sveinsson (Sigur Rós) and internationally acclaimed performance artist Ragnar Kjartansson. This piece was performed at the London Barbican Centre and was awarded number one art show of 2016 by The Guardian.
