Campus Life

The Key Messages to Students are-

  • If you live in Halls and blast your hall mates with loud music when they are trying to study it will make you foes, not friends.

  • Clubs and Societies. If there isn't a club already that spins your wheels, start your own or form an anti-club Club. The core message is: For a fulfilling time at uni you have to take part.

  • Welcome to adulthood. At last you can make your own choices, follow your own interests. However, it's not up to someone else to start a conversation or to make you happy. It's all up to you.

  • It's all about Balance. We say - have fun, dress up in a sheet if you want to and stay out late but do remember that you are there to get a degree.

  • Being a student doesn't come with a life preserver and not all students are decent chaps, chaps.
    Stay safe by being smart.

I believe that this year the students formed themselves into supportive communities far quicker than in the past. I am certain that having them attend your presentation went a long way towards facilitating this supportive environment.

A number of students said the presentation had come at 'just the right time' for them because they had been planning to leave the University, but were now going to give it a further try"
