Of Mauritian/Australian heritage, Conrade also lived and performed in New Zealand for several years.
A born frontman, he began performing while still at primary school and continued his enthusiastic involvement in high school drama productions before starting university.
After achieving his Associate Diploma in Cartography from the University of the Northern Territory, Australia, Conrade found that the lure of performance appealed more than map making.
He went on to complete two years full time drama study at KAFF Theatre Training in Western Australia, followed by tuition in mime at the HUSH School of Mime. Study in film and screen acting at the Freemantle Film and Theatre Institute completed his formal training.
This led to the formation of physical theatre group WELL and it was here that Conrade realised his love and aptitude for this style of performance. He went on to perform at many international festivals and events including the Edinburgh Festival, Glastonbury, the Edmonton Fringe and the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
Conrade was invited to join the UniSmart team after impressing the Directors with his street show and repeatedly expressing his desire to use his performance skills to motivate and help people. Conrade now forms a senior part of the Presenting Team and lends his skills directing new talent for UniSmart.
“The Presenter was eccentric, lively, enthusiastic and he really hit home with the points he was making… fab!”
