Darren grew up in West Yorkshire, via Scotland, Germany, Norfolk and London. As the son of an RAF Sergeant, he was destined for one of two career paths in life; joining the military, or becoming a professional rugby league player. Fortunately, at the age of 18, he managed to side step destiny and decided that he quite fancied being an actor instead. This led to him to the University of Glasgow and a degree in English Literature and Theatre Studies.
After Graduating in 2012, Darren spent two years backpacking around the world to ‘find himself’. Turns out he eventually found his true vocation in a bar in Melbourne during an improvised comedy night. He subsequently got into drama school and completed his Masters in Professional Acting at the Academy of Live and Recorded Art in December 2016.
In between acting roles, Darren is an accomplished writer and producer and is currently in the process of developing his own theatre company, DMT Theatre, with the aim to produce his own original work.
2017 marked Darren’s first season with UniSmart, a company that impressed him as an excellent way to communicate important messages through a medium that he considers is his first language – performance.
